MEDIA ADVISORY - HAITIAN DIASPORA TO THE RESCUE! (LE PROJET D.H.E.R)
MONTREAL, Dec. 15 /CNW Telbec/ - The Montreal borough of St-Michel and the Centre de Formation Professionnelle Mont-Laurier (CFPML) invite members of the press to a briefing of the Heavy Machinery Training Project for Haitian Diaspora living in Quebec.
Supported by the Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport (MELS), this bold new project has given 30 Montrealers, all members of the Haitian Diaspora, the opportunity to receive specialized training required to become licensed operators of heavy machinery. The main goal of the project is to successfully equip young Quebecers of Haitian descent interested in joining the much needed reconstruction efforts in their homeland. Further details will be unveiled at the briefing.
Members of the press will have an opportunity to meet individuals responsible for the creation of the project, as well as the 30 students currently enrolled in the training program. The students will demonstrate their newly aquired skills using heavy machinery at the site of the briefing.
Such a project will be of particular interest to Canadian companies and organizations involved in reconstruction efforts in Haiti.
