MONTREAL, Sept. 25, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Saturday, September 28, from 10:00 am to 05:00 pm, the 7th Pyramid of Shoes will take place on Gerald Godin square, at Mont-Royal metro station in Montreal. Handicap International invites citizens to gather for an action day against landmines and cluster bombs.
At this occasion, several personalities have announced their presence:
- Frédéric Barbusci, actor
- Edgar Bori, author, songwriter and singer
- Paul Hannon, Mines Action Canada's Director
- Amir Khadir, MP, Québec Solidaire
- Gervais L'Heureux, AQOCI's Director
- Hélène Laverdière, MP, NDP
- Kathleen Weil, MP, Quebec Liberal Party
They all wanted to be present beside Handicap International to show their support to the international ban of landmines and cluster bombs. Nowadays, every two hours, an innocent is still victim of these weapons; nearly 80 countries and territories are still contaminated; millions of munitions are still stockpiled by some countries and more than 500.000 survivors need a strengthened assistance.
The 7th Pyramid of Shoes highlights the "Fashion Victim" raising-awareness campaign that Handicap International has been implementing since the beginning of September.
