About the HIPPY Canada Because Mothers Matter Awards
Because Mothers Matter Awards are given to prominent Canadian mothers who have achieved noteworthy success while giving back to their communities and to HIPPY mothers who embody the courage and determination of HIPPY families and serve as models for the unique role mothers play in leading social change.
The evidence-based program works with families in the home to support parents, primarily mothers, in their critical role as their child's first and most important teacher. HIPPY strengthens families and communities by empowering mothers to actively prepare their children for success in school. HIPPY has served more than 7 500 low-income, newcomer and Aboriginal mothers. For more information, visit www.hippycanada.ca.
