MONTREAL, Aug. 4, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Anie Samson, Vice-Chair of the Montreal Executive Committee, and Charles-Mathieu Brunelle, Executive Director of Montréal Space for Life, invite media representatives to attend the peace ceremony commemorating the victims of the Hiroshima bombing. The event will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, in the Japanese Garden at the Montréal Botanical Garden.
During this moment of contemplation, the Peace Bell will be sounded in the Japanese Garden as a reminder of this terrible event on August 6, 1945, when the atomic bomb wiped out tens of thousands of lives in Hiroshima.
This is a rare opportunity to hear this bell, a reminder of the passing years and the pressing need to come together to work for world peace. The bell will ring 69 times throughout the day on August 6 to commemorate the tragedy.
