Media Advisory - Historic 1924 rail car stationed in Central Station Montréal to raise funds for Alzheimer's research

MONTREAL, June 6, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - One of Canada's most successful family-owned companies is putting one of Canada's last private rail cars on the tracks to help raise $1 million dollars for Alzheimer's research.

To commemorate the 100^th Anniversary of Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee Inc., the company is launching the Mother Parkers Remembers Campaign.  Owners and co-Chief Executive Officers Michael and Paul Higgins Jr. have put their family's historic 1924 rail car, the Pacific, back into service in support of the fundraising effort to find a cure for Alzheimer's disease, the illness that afflicted their father in his later years.

Media are invited to tour the Mother Parkers Pacific Rail Car that was used by King George VI and the Queen Mother during their 1939 tour of Canada.  The tour began in Quebec City and made its first stop in Montreal on May 18, 1939.
