Media Advisory - Historic Canadian flag to be officially donated to the Canada Science and Technology Museum for public display Français
OTTAWA, June 1, 2016 /CNW/ - As the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) celebrates its 100th anniversary, it will donate the historic first colour-standardized Canadian national flag to the Canada Science and Technology Museum. The flag will be put on public display in 2017 as Canada celebrates 150 years as a nation. The National Research Council of Canada proudly standardized the brilliant shade of red that is so iconic in Canada's maple leaf flag and that has become the standard for all Canadian flags to come. His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will attend the event and deliver brief remarks on this occasion. The National Research Council of Canada turns one hundred years old on Monday, June 6.
Members of the media wishing to cover the event are asked to confirm their attendance.
