Media Advisory - HMCS DONNACONA participates to the Great Canadian Shoreline
Cleanup 2010
MONTREAL, Sept. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - Her Majesty's Canadian Ship DONNACONA will be participating in the annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup along the Lachine Canal between Charlevoix and St-Rémi streets on Saturday, 18 September 2010 at 1430.
HMCS DONNACONA is the Canadian Navy's reserve division in Montreal, a unit of over 200 men and women who serve Canada on a part-time basis or on full-time contracts on ships and around the world.
The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is one of the largest cleanups in the world according to the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup data. Now in its 17th year, the 2010 event will take place September 18-26, 2010. It is a conservation program that aims to promote understanding of shoreline litter issues by engaging Canadians to rehabilitate shoreline areas and ultimately become stewards of change.
