Media Advisory - Hope Live Gala 2014: Rick Mercer Joined by Alanis Morissette This Year

OTTAWA, Oct. 24, 2014 /CNW/ - Alanis Morissette will take centre stage in front of her hometown crowd at Hope Live's sixth annual benefit concert in support of Fertile Future. The marquee event that brings together great food and music in an intimate setting, takes place on October 27 at the Great Canadian Theatre Company.

Comedian Rick Mercer will once again host the evening and keep the sold-out crowd of politico, business and media types on their toes with his unique brand of political commentary. Ms. Morissette will perform an intimate acoustic set that spans her illustrious career. And the foodies in the crowd will be sated by Restaurateur Stephen Beckta and Chef Michael Moffat who will present a unique tasting menu.

Fertile Future is a national charitable foundation that works with young people diagnosed with cancer to promote awareness and understanding of fertility preservation and survivor health care issues. The organization educates health care practitioners on providing timely information on fertility preservation options and long-term health care issues. Fertile Future has established the Power of Hope Cost Reduction Program to assist qualifying cancer patients. All funds raised by Hope Live are donated in support of the organization and its programs.
