Media Advisory - Humber to host national launch of Boost's Go Purple for
Prevention! Campaign
TORONTO, Oct 5 /CNW/ - Humber College and Boost Child Abuse Prevention & Intervention, in partnership with the Canadian Child Care Federation and the University of Guelph-Humber, will host Boost's national launch of the sixth annual Go Purple for Prevention! Campaign. The event is held each year to raise awareness and provide education to prevent abuse and violence in the lives of children and youth. It is an important opportunity for all schools, organizations, businesses, and individuals to participate and promote the need for child abuse awareness and prevention.
Go Purple for Prevention! also kick starts the month of October which is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Activities will be held throughout the month to raise awareness and provide education aimed at combating child abuse.
The 2010 Go Purple for Prevention! Campaign features posters and a Public Service Announcement designed by Humber Creative Advertising students to promote the prevention campaign. This initiative is supported by Humber students in the School of Social & Community Services and the School of Health Sciences.
CIBC Children's Miracle will also present Boost with a $30,000 cheque in support of the cause.
