Media Advisory - Hydro One advises that construction work on electricity distribution line will cause the closure of the 401 near Chatham-Kent on Sunday, May 6th from 7a.m. to 11a.m.
TORONTO, May 1, 2012 /CNW/ - Hydro One is advising motorists travelling in the Chatham-Kent area this Sunday that a portion of Highway401 will be closed as power lines are installed across the highway between the Orford Highgate exit and the Furnival exit.
The OPP will direct motorists during the planned closure and the Ministry of Transportation will handle signage.
Crews will be stringing 16 wires across Highway 401 at the Duart Road overpass to accommodate construction of the Duart transformer station.
Traffic travelling east and west bound on Highway 401 will be directed to follow the detours set up to move traffic around this closure.
The new distribution line is expected to be in service by June 30, 2012. The Duart transformer station is being built to ensure system reliability.
