MEDIA ADVISORY - Imperial Tobacco Canada spokesperson available for interviews on participation in Bill S-5 Senate consultation on April 6 Français
OTTAWA, April 3, 2016 /CNW/ - On Thursday, April 6, Imperial Tobacco Canada will have the opportunity to speak before the Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology to participate in a consultation for the federal government's Tobacco and Vaping Products Act (Bill S-5), which would see amendments to the Tobacco Act that would enable the introduction of plain and standardized tobacco packaging and products, while also introducing a regulatory framework for vaping products.
Eric Gagnon, Head of External and Corporate Affairs for Imperial Tobacco Canada, is available to speak with media on the consultation to offer insights on how some of the measures in the bill will be counterproductive in achieving the government's stated objectives and will have an adverse impact on the illegal tobacco trade, taxation, and harm reduction efforts.
