Media Advisory - Industry Leaders Gather in Cambridge for Nuclear Summit
CAMBRIDGE, ON, May 14, 2012 /CNW/ - Up to 200 industry leaders are expected to attend the Nuclear Refurbishment Summit, taking place at Aecon Nuclear in Cambridge, Ontario on May 17, 2012.
The event, sponsored by the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA), the Organization of CANDU Industries (OCI), and Aecon Nuclear, will feature keynote speakers including the Honourable Chris Bentley, Ontario Minister of Energy, Mr. Albert Sweetnam, Executive Vice President, Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Mr. Kevin Wallace, President and General Manager of Candu Energy Inc., and Mr. Rod Eagles, Deputy Chief Nuclear Officer at New Brunswick Power.
Other notable attendees include Cambridge Mayor Mr. Doug Craig, OPG Chief Nuclear Officer Mr. Wayne Robbins, Ms. Denise Carpenter, CNA President, Mr. Ron Oberth, OCI President, and Mr. John Beck, Chairman & CEO of Aecon Group Inc.
The event is open to CNA and OCI members, and special guests.
On March 1, 2012, Aecon Group Inc. announced that a joint venture they were part of had been awarded a major contract with OPG to carry out the Darlington Retube and Feeder Replacement Project.
