MEDIA ADVISORY - Institute of Corporate Directors to Host Celebration of the 100th Course Offering of the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program
TORONTO, May 20, 2014 /CNW/ - Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), the national association for Canadian directors and boards, invites media to attend a May 28, 2014 Special Cocktail Reception celebrating the 100th national course offering of the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program (DEP).
The event will also feature the presentation of an honorary ICD.D designation to Joseph L. Rotman in recognition of his distinguished career and the clear demonstration he provides of the skills and knowledge taught in the DEP program.
The DEP, jointly developed by ICD and the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, is Canada's leading program for experienced directors to learn about core and emerging governance issues. Alumni of the program include Mark Wiseman (CPP Investment Board), Robert Deluce (Porter Airlines), Rob Sobey (Sobeys Inc.), and Roberta Bondar (Com Dev International).

About the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program (DEP)
The Directors Education Program was jointly developed by the ICD and Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto to help directors strengthen their skills, expand their knowledge and be more effective in creating and protecting value for the organizations and corporations they serve. The DEP is taught by leading business faculty, experienced directors and governance experts at six leading business schools: the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, the Haskayne School of Business at University of Calgary, the University of Alberta School of Business, the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University, the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University, and the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University. Since the launch of the DEP, over 3,000 directors have completed the program.
