Media Advisory - Insurance Bureau of Canada Announces Rain Barrel Study Results

SASKATOON, May 29, 2012 /CNW/ - Water damage claims have soared to $1.7 billion annually in Canada, surpassing fire as the leading cause of damage to homes. In response to the increase in severe weather and water damage claims IBC has investigated ways to help communities deal with excess water.

The Wingham Rain Barrel Study began with 1,000 rain barrels, one for each homeowner, and at the news conference we will announce the surprising results of the study.

At the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Conference in Saskatoon, join William Adams, Vice President, Atlantic Canada, Insurance Bureau of Canada and municipal officials for the announcement of the study results as well as news on the next town selected for the study.
