On September 18, 2012, Telefilm Canada announced that the feature film War Witch, directed by Kim Nguyen, had been selected to represent Canada as a possible nominee in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 85th Academy Awards, to be held in Hollywood on February 24, 2013.

If War Witch is among the nine candidates shortlisted on December 21, 2012 for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, journalists will be invited to take part in a Q&A with Kim Nguyen and the producers Pierre Even and Marie-Claude Poulin (Item 7).

Please note: in the event that War Witch is not selected as a candidate, the session will be cancelled.

The five finalist films nominated for the 85^th Academy Awards will be announced on January 10, 2013.

Carolle Brabant, Executive Director of Telefilm Canada, will introduce the filmmaker.

Telefilm chairs the pan-Canadian Oscar selection committee.
