Restoration project to regenerate Toronto wetland
TORONTO, June 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Would you take the day off to go fishing at the Toronto Waterfront? Fish will be plentiful in a few years through a new, significant wetland regeneration project at Tommy Thompson Park. Toronto and Region Conservation and Coca-Cola Canada are partnering to restore a wetland equivalent to the size of 18,000 average-sized swimming pools.
WHAT: Join Toronto and Region Conservation, the Hon. Jim Bradley, Minister of the Environment, Government of Ontario, and Coca-Cola Canada at Tommy Thompson Park on the Leslie Street Spit to experience how an industrial site will be transformed into a healthy nine-hectare coastal wetland, flourishing with fish and wildlife. And, take a photo with a big catch via a fishing demonstration. |
