Media Advisory - Is the marketplace of ideas broken? CJFE to host panel discussion on June 7
TORONTO, June 5, 2017 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE) presents a panel discussion on the declining state of the marketplace of ideas. The panel brings together experts and individuals at the forefront of journalism and law to ask: Is the marketplace of ideas in a depression? As legacy media falters and politics become more extreme, is the free marketplace of ideas broken where the best ideas no longer rise to the top?
The panel features Scaachi Koul, culture writer at Buzzfeed Canada and author of One Day We'll All Be Dead And None Of This Will Matter, Vicky Mochama, national columnist at Metro News and co-host of the podcast Safe Space, and Jamie Cameron, law professor at Osgoode Hall Law School.
