Inspirational kids from across Canada to descend on Ottawa to meet with parliamentarians to highlight type 1 diabetes (T1D) research and to advocate for an expanded clinical trial network for diabetes research.
OTTAWA, Nov. 23, 2012 /CNW/ - Inspirational children from across Canada who live every day with T1D will be visiting Ottawa next week as part of JDRF's "Kids for a Cure" Day.
Forty "Living Proof Champions" and their families will meet with parliamentarians to discuss the challenges they face from T1D, create awareness around T1D, highlight how T1D research and innovation has improved their lives, and the importance of expanding the JDRF Canadian Clinical Trial Network (JDRF CCTN) to all parts of the country.
In addition to individual private meetings with parliamentarians, the following public events will be held (all times local):
