Media Advisory - Jerry Agar joins sold out Canadian Journalism Foundation Forum: Fear and Loathing at City Hall
TORONTO, Jan. 13, 2012 /CNW/ - Jerry Agar, host of The Jerry Agar Show at Newstalk 1010, is joining The Canadian Journalism Foundation's Forum Fear and Loathing at City Hall on Thursday, January 19th at 7:00 p.m. Agar replaces Sue-Ann Levy, Toronto Sun City Hall columnist. Tickets to this Toronto event are sold out.
Relations between the media, especially the Toronto Star, and the Mayor's office have been called everything from toxic to hostile to strained, but seldom cordial. The Star has been blacklisted by the Mayor. Political divisions at City Hall seem entrenched, angry and personal. All of this, at a time when citizens of Toronto are becoming increasingly concerned about municipal issues that impact their daily lives. Covering City Hall has seldom been more important.
The panel also features ROBYN DOOLITTLE, Toronto Star urban affairs reporter; MARCUS GEE, The Globe and Mail's Toronto columnist and ROYSON JAMES, Toronto Star municipal affairs columnist. JACKSON PROSKOW, Global Toronto's municipal affairs reporter, will moderate.
WHERE: TMX Broadcast Centre (Gallery), The Exchange Tower, 130 King Street West, Toronto
WHEN: Thursday, January 19
Registration 6:30 p.m. / Presentation 7:00 p.m. / Reception 8:30 p.m.
