                      CEREMONY FOR NEW TROOP DEPLOYMENT
    

VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, Oct. 13 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to attend a ceremony highlighting the end of training and the upcoming deployment of about 435 Canadian Forces (CF) members who will form Joint Task Force Afghanistan Headquarters (JTF Afg HQ) for nine months.

The ceremony will be presided over by Brigadier-General Daniel Ménard, who will replace Brigadier-General Jonathan H. Vance as Commander of JTF Afg HQ in mid-November 2009. Among the approximately 435 CF members being honoured, approximately 130 are from Valcartier, while the others are based elsewhere in Canada .
