TORONTO, June 5, 2013 /CNW/ - Media are welcome to hear Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne's remarks during the opening ceremony of the first day of business at the biennial convention of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions tomorrow morning.
In addition to Premier Wynne's welcome at 8:30 a.m. in the Metropolitan Ballroom of the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto, delegates from across Canada will hear greetings from Linda Haslam-Stroud, president of the Ontario Nurses Association, and an address by CFNU President Linda Silas.
Tomorrow afternoon, delegates to the CFNU convention will hear from former Governor General Michaëlle Jean at 1:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, media are also reminded that more than 800 nurses are expected to join a lunch hour rally for mental health this afternoon.
Participants in the rally will gather at 11:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Westin Harbour Castle, 1 Harbour Square, in Toronto, and proceed to HTO Park three blocks west of the hotel on Toronto's waterfront. The rally will end at 1:30 p.m.
