OTTAWA, Nov. 13, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Parliamentarians, including Senators and MPs, will join educators, NGO representatives and students from across Canada at the Keep the Promise (KTP) Town Hall in Ottawa next week to re-ignite the public commitment to the 1989 unanimous motion in the House of Commons to end child poverty in Canada by the year 2000.
The Town Hall will feature student presentations to give voice to ideas/solutions to solve child poverty and what they consider to be priority issues and promising paths of action. (Live streaming at http://tv.ctf-fce.ca )
The KTP campaign co-chairs Mary-Jo Leddy, OC, founder of Romero House, Toronto; and Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Emanu-El, Toronto, Arthur Bielfield, CM will also be attending along with the Honourable James Bartleman, former lieutenant governor of Ontario, who will address students.
