the OWA's Power of Water Conference

OTTAWA , Oct. 6 /CNW/ - The Honourable Donna Cansfield, Minister of Natural Resources and Laurel Broten , Parliamentary Assistant to the Honourable George Smitherman , Minister of Energy and Infrastructure will address the Power of Water Conference delegates on October 16, 2009 . Ms. Broten and the Minister are expected to discuss Ontario's ten step plan to the implementation of the Green Energy and Green Economy Act and how this Act will accelerate and enhance the production of renewable energy from waterpower in Ontario.

The pre-conference events on October 15th will include two concurrent tours, one of Energy Ottawa's Chaudière Falls facilities in the heart of the nation's capital and the second to Almonte Hydro's expansion project, Canadian Hydro Developers' Appleton generating station and Canadian Hydro Component's turbine manufacturing plant near Almonte, ON. The conference agenda on October 16th will feature four individual interactive and educational workshops focused on the key issues and opportunities facing the waterpower sector today.
