October 16, 2009

Ms. Broten
and the Minister are expected to discuss Ontario's ten step plan to the implementation of the Green Energy and Green Economy Act and how this Act will accelerate and enhance the production of renewable energy from waterpower in Ontario.
The pre-conference events on
October 15th
will include two concurrent tours, one of Energy Ottawa's Chaudière Falls facilities in the heart of the nation's capital and the second to Almonte Hydro's expansion project, Canadian Hydro Developers' Appleton generating station and Canadian Hydro Component's turbine manufacturing plant near Almonte, ON. The conference agenda on

will feature four individual interactive and educational workshops focused on the key issues and opportunities facing the waterpower sector today. A full agenda and further details can be found on the OWA website at www.owa.ca.
The Ontario Waterpower Association was formed in
May 2001
and represents more than 95% of Ontario waterpower producers. Waterpower is clean, renewable and accounts for more than one quarter of Ontario's energy mix.
