Media Advisory - Labour and community join in leafleting campaign aimed at
South Bruce Grey Health Centre
TORONTO, June 18 /CNW/ - On Saturday, June 19 shoppers in Kincardine, Durham, Hanover and Walkerton will be given leaflets warning them of conditions at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre. The four-site hospital has been cutting services, destroying staff morale, silencing critics and taking away the democratic rights of the community to elect hospital board members.
The leafleting action follows press conferences in Durham and Kincardine last week.
The day is being organized by OPSEU, Friends of the Kincardine Hospital, The Grey Bruce Labour Council and the Ontario Health Coalition.
Spokespersons will be available to the media:
Mary Ellen Pollard, Co-Chair of the Friends of the Kincardine Hospital, will be available at 10 am by the Sobeys/Zehrs parking lot in Kincardine. She can be reached at 519-395-3121.
David Cox, Owen Sound staff representative for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), will be available to speak to media. He can be reached at 519-372-5776.
