Canadian Contribution Training Mission - Afghanistan
VALCARTIER GARRISON, QC, Nov. 7, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Reporters are invited to be present this Thursday, November 8, when one of the last groups of Canadian Forces (CF) members assembles prior to departing for Kabul, Afghanistan, where they will participate in the second rotation of Operation ATTENTION:
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2012
- 9:15-10:15 am: Meet the soldiers and their families at Valcartier Garrison (interview opportunities)
- 10:15-10:30 am: The soldiers board buses at Valcartier (photo opportunities)
At 10:30 am, the group of about 98 CF members will board buses to travel from Valcartier to Jean Lesage International Airport. However, interviews can be conducted and photographs taken only at Valcartier. The flight is scheduled to depart at 12:15 pm.
If you would like to be present at Valcartier for the departure of this group, please confirm your attendance with the 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group public affairs office (see contact information below). All media representatives who plan to attend must report to the main gate of Valcartier Garrison on November 8 at 9:00 am. Only media who will travel to Valcartier for the get-together will be able to interview soldiers.
Let's recall that from mid-October to mid-November 2012, approximately 850 CF members will have gradually left Quebec to form the next Canadian Contribution Training Mission - Afghanistan (CCTM-A). Serving as part of Operation ATTENTION, the soldiers will provide support for training and professional development of Afghanistan's national security forces until June 2013.
