MEDIA ADVISORY - LCBO workers in Toronto to stage information rally April 19
TORONTO, April 18, 2013 /CNW/ - OPSEU members of the LCBO in downtown Toronto will stage an information picket outside the retail outlet at 2 Cooper Street (Queen's Quay) on Friday April 19 from noon to 1:00 p.m. to support their bargaining team in contract negotiations with the Crown-owned retail giant.
The Toronto info picket will coincide with rallies in London, Hamilton, Peterborough, Ottawa, Thunder Bay and Sudbury.
On April 9, LCBO workers voted 95 per cent in favour of strike action should contract talks break down. The employees' contract with management expired on March 31. Talks continue.
The main issues in negotiations include wages and benefits, job security and improved health and safety standards.
The Toronto information picket will be held at the following location from noon to 1:00 p.m. Friday April 19:
