MEDIA ADVISORY - LCBO workers to stage information rallies April 19 across Ontario

TORONTO, April 18, 2013 /CNW/ - OPSEU members of the LCBO will stage information pickets outside retail outlets in seven Ontario cities on Friday April 19 from noon to 1:00 p.m. to support their bargaining team in contract negotiations with the Crown-owned retail giant.

The information pickets will be held outside a prominent LCBO outlet in Toronto, London, Hamilton, Peterborough, Ottawa, Sudbury and Thunder Bay. See list of locations below.

On April 9, LCBO workers voted 95 per cent in favour of strike action should contract talks break down. The employees' contract with management expired on March 31. Talks continue.

The main issues in negotiations include wages and benefts, job security and improved health and safety standards.

Information pickets will be held at the following locations from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Friday April 19:
