TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2016 /CNW/ - Less than a week remains to book tickets to see Matthew Winkler, co-founder and editor-in-chief emeritus of Bloomberg News, in conversation with Jacquie McNish, award-winning senior correspondent with The Wall Street Journal. The Canadian Journalism Foundation (CJF) will hold the J-Talk Building Bloomberg News on October 25 in Toronto.
In an era of mounting newsroom cutbacks, Bloomberg News remains a financial and journalistic success story. Winkler will discuss newsroom budgets, the evolution and ethics of business news and working with Michael Bloomberg to create the "Bloomberg Way."
In his current role, Winkler interviews global newsmakers and writes about markets for Bloomberg View, a forum that provides opinion and analysis of current events. He is also author of The Bloomberg Way: A Guide for Reporters and Editors and co-author of Bloomberg by Bloomberg. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Winkler was a columnist for Forbes magazine, a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, Barron's and with Dow Jones & Co. news services in New York and in London.
The discussion is part of the CJF J-Talks series, exploring issues and challenges shaping journalism.
The CJF is grateful for the generosity of J-Talk series sponsor BMO Financial Group and in-kind supporters CNW and CPAC.
