MONTREAL, Feb. 20, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, the Liberal Biennial Convention kicks off at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. Thousands of participants from all the Canadian provinces and territories have gathered in Montréal to discuss different key issues and prepare the next federal election. Tourisme Montréal welcomes the delegates and speakers taking part in the event.
The convention, which takes place every two years in a major Canadian city, is the very first meeting of this scale with Justin Trudeau as party leader. A native Montréaler and MP for the riding of Papineau, Trudeau has also taken advantage of the occasion to recommend, in the convention program, a few favourite Montréal spots to party members who will be attending.
"While the Convention is likely to keep us all very busy, Sophie and I couldn't help but pass along some of our favourite areas and eats in Montréal," notes Trudeau.
