ABOUT SPEECHES THAT CHANGED CANADA
In the book, Gruending has chosen dramatic speeches from 11 of Canada's finest political orators beginning with John A. Macdonald arguing Confederation into being in 1865 and ending with Chief Joseph Gosnell's powerful address in favour of the Nisga'a Treaty in 1998. The book also contains speeches by Louis Riel, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Nellie McClung, Arthur Meighen, Agnes Macphail, R.B. Bennett, Tommy Douglas, Lester Pearson, and Pierre Trudeau.
