Media Advisory - Lieutenant Governor Presents Diamond Jubilee Medals

TORONTO, Feb. 3, 2012 /CNW/ - The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, is pleased to announce the inaugural presentation of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medals to a distinguished group of Ontarians.  The Lieutenant Governor will present these historic medals at a ceremony in the Vice-Regal Suite on Monday, February 6, 2012, at 3:00 p.m.

The Diamond Jubilee medals were created by the Canadian Heraldic Authority, approved by The Queen, and manufactured by the Royal Canadian Mint.  They were established to commemorate the 60^th anniversary of Her Majesty's accession to the throne, and are presented to celebrate the tremendous achievements and contributions Canadians have made to their country.
