Media Advisory - Lieutenant Governor to unveil Christmas tree with Ontario Forestry Association and students
TORONTO, Nov. 29, 2012 /CNW/ - The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario is set to unveil a majestic Douglas fir measuring 4.9 metres (16 feet) on Saturday, 1 December, officially beginning the holiday season in Ontario.
His Honour will welcome members of the Ontario Forestry Association (OFA) to the Lieutenant Governor's Suite, as well as student participants in the OFA Envirothon and Tree Bee youth environmental education programs. Schools represented are: West Hill Secondary School (Owen Sound) and Holy Spirit Catholic School (Toronto).
The OFA has presented the Lieutenant Governor with Christmas trees every year since 1999. Beautifully decorated with traditional ornaments, the tree will enchant over 1000 visitors to the Viceregal Suite during end of year festivities.
