MEDIA ADVISORY - Locked-Out Workers Protest Sears' Callous Treatment
TORONTO, Aug. 20 /CNW/ - Locked out Sears workers will be leafleting consumers outside the retailer's flagship store at Yonge and Dundas Streets at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 21.
The workers are protesting Sears' refusal to negotiate and its demand for a new contract allowing it to impose unilateral cuts to benefits, working conditions and wages.
About 500 members of United Steelworkers Local 9537 have been locked out of their jobs at Sears' warehouse in Vaughan since April 1.
