MEDIA ADVISORY - Make three minutes matter - CivicAction launches workplace mental health program
TORONTO, Nov. 30, 2016 /CNW/ - On Friday, December 2, 2016, join CivicAction and over 150 civic and business leaders from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) as they kick-off an innovative new workplace mental health program that encourages the workplace to better support people's mental health, converts intentions to actions, and mobilizes the region's employers to make measureable progress on this issue by 2019.
The program comes on the heels of new research CivicAction released earlier this year estimating that half of the GTHA's labour force has experienced a mental health issue and that over the next decade, current mental health issues could cost our region $17 billion in lost productivity.
The event will feature a panel discussion of employers and people with lived experience, table discussions between employers on barriers and what's worked, and an introduction of CivicAction's new online assessment tool. The new tool, the first of its kind in Canada, helps employers quickly know where they stand in supporting the mental health of their employees and what more they and their employees can do.
Date: Friday, December 2, 2016
Time: The event will start at 9 a.m. and run until 11:15 a.m. The panel discussion will take place at 9:15 a.m. and CivicAction's new online tool will be introduced at 11 a.m.
Location: KPMG, 333 Bay Street, Toronto, 46th Floor

- Sevaun Palvetzian, CEO, CivicAction
