MEDIA ADVISORY - Manning Centre's Ted Morton Releases Report on Energy Sector's Death by a Thousand NDP Cuts
CALGARY, Aug. 11, 2015 /CNW/ - The Manning Centre released a report today by Professor Ted Morton on the potential impact of various Alberta NDP energy policies on the province's energy sector. The report, "A Risk Analysis of the Alberta NDP's Energy Policies: Death by a Thousand Cuts?" identifies 13 specific policy risks posed by the new NDP government to the Alberta oil and gas sector.
Each of these risks represents additional costs and/or loss of revenues. The study rates each of these risks for its potential severity discounted by its probability. While no one of these policies by itself poses a terminal risk, when taken together, if layered one on top of another, their cumulative impact could be significant.
