MONTREAL, Oct. 9, 2012 /CNW/ - Greg Schmidt, President of the Energy Council of Canada and Thierry Vandal, President and CEO of Hydro Québec, will hold a media availability session in Montreal to coincide with the Energy Person of the Year dinner taking place tomorrow night, Wednesday, October 10th, 2012. Thierry Vandal has been chosen as the Energy Council of Canada's 2012 recipient of the Energy Person of the Year Award.
The Canadian Energy Person of the Year Award was established by the Energy Council of Canada, supported by the sectoral energy associations of Canada, to recognize and pay tribute to leaders in Canada who have made a significant contribution to Canada's energy sector, both nationally and internationally. The dinner will feature speeches beginning at 7:00 pm including by - Thierry Vandal, Serge Dupont, federal Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, and Patrick Déry, Quebec's Deputy Minister Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife - in front of more than 500 energy, business, government, academic, and community leaders.
