Media Advisory - Media Event and Photo Opportunity - Community Engagement Session in Owen Sound Focusing on Supports for Older Adults with Challenging Behaviours
LONDON, ON, Nov. 21, 2012 /CNW/ - The South West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is bringing together local health care providers to update residents on what programs and services are available for older people with challenging behaviours and their caregivers. Challenging behaviours refer to wandering, physical and verbal aggression, resistance to care and more.
The evening will include:
- Charlotte Bumstead and Dr. Brendan Mulroy from Grey Bruce Health Services will provide an overview of Behavioural Supports Ontario (BSO) and what it means for Grey and Bruce counties
- BSO Social Worker Laura Balletta will share some success stories from the program
- Tracee Givens from Elgin Abbey Long-Term Care Home will discuss how BSO is impacting the long-term care sector
