Media Advisory - Media invited to join CRTC, NFB, experts and participants for The Discoverability Summit in Toronto

OTTAWA, May 5, 2016  /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to join the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) at the Discoverability Summit, on May 10, 2016, in Toronto, Ontario.

In the age of abundance, viewers are overwhelmed with audiovisual content choices. In such an environment, how do creators ensure their audiovisual content connects with audiences? And how can viewers find the content they want to watch?

The Summit is proud to announce that the dynamic Anne-Marie Withenshaw will serve as the master of ceremonies and that the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, will be a special guest of honour.

	Opening remarks and keynote speech "The age of abundance; how we got here" by Dana Lee, Associate Professor and Manager, Media Production Program, Ryerson University.
	- 1:40 p.m. to 3:25 p.m – EDT
	Recess Hub (gadgets and demos), remarks by the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage and keynote speech "Virtual reality: the future or flop?" by James Milward, President/Executive Producer, Secret Location.

Keynote speakers and experts will be available for interviews on-site from 1:40 p.m. to 2:25 p.m.
