Media Advisory - Member of Parliament Karen McCrimmon to Launch 33rd Christmas Lights Across Canada Français
Karen McCrimmon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport and Member of Parliament (Kanata–Carleton), will speak at the Christmas Lights Across Canada illumination ceremony on Thursday in Ottawa
OTTAWA, Dec. 6, 2017 /CNW/ - Karen McCrimmon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Transport and Member of Parliament (Kanata–Carleton), will deliver remarks at the Christmas Lights Across Canada illumination ceremony on Thursday in Ottawa. Ms. McCrimmon will speak on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.
In addition to the lighting of hundreds of thousands of multicoloured lights in the heart of Canada's Capital Region, the annual ceremony will feature musical performances by Juno Award-winner Jess Moskaluke and Céleste Lévis, a pyrotechnics show, and a projection of the winter lightscapes show. The evening's festivities will also be broadcast live on Facebook for Canadians across the country who are unable to attend the ceremony.
Media representatives will need Parliamentary Press Gallery accreditation to access the designated media area.
All media representatives who are not members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery must apply for temporary accreditation in advance. Those interested should contact Marc Fortier, Acting Manager of Multi-Media Events, by email at [email protected] no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
Media will have access to an area with risers on the central walk in front of the stage; it is accessible from the east driveway. Parking will be available for live broadcast vehicles only upon request.
An RSVP for live broadcast vehicles must be sent by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, to [email protected]. Members of the media are asked to provide the driver's name and cellular phone number, and the licence plate number.
