Randy Boissonnault, Member of Parliament (Edmonton Centre), will deliver opening remarks at the unveiling of four large murals with the theme Nākatēyimisowin - Taking Care of Oneself, a new public art exhibit that showcases the unique talents of Indigenous artists
OTTAWA, June 21, 2018 /CNW/ - Randy Boissonnault, Member of Parliament (Edmonton Centre), will deliver opening remarks on Thursday at the unveiling of a new public art exhibit that showcases the unique talents of Indigenous artists from different regions of Canada. He will speak on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage.
Nākatēyimisowin - Taking Care of Oneself, a collection of four thought-provoking murals, is located in the recreational pathway tunnel under Wellington Street at the Portage Bridge. This project is part of the Art in the Capital program, which aims to raise the profile of Canadian public art in the urban spaces of Canada's Capital Region. This project was done in collaboration with Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada.
