TORONTO, Dec. 8, 2014 /CNW/ - The Metrolinx Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, December 11, 2014 to hear a number of reports, including updates on the implementation of Regional Express Rail. The Board will also consider a recommendation on a variable fare structure for Union Pearson Express, the new express rail link that will launch in the Spring of 2015.
Updates from Metrolinx Operating Divisions—GO Transit, UP Express, and PRESTO—will also be shared as Metrolinx continues to build more transit and improve transportation across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. GO Transit President Greg Percy will also ask the Board to consider the annual fare increase. The fare adjustment will ensure GO can continue to provide a high level of customer service while meeting increasing ridership.
Metrolinx Board Chair J. Robert S. Prichard and CEO Bruce McCuaig will be available to media following the public session of the board meeting. Please note that the public session begins at approximately 10:00 a.m.
