Media Advisory - Michener supports Toronto Fire Fighters' Toy Drive
TORONTO, Dec. 13 /CNW/ - The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences invites you to the closing ceremony of its 5th Annual Charitable Winter Drive on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.
As always, the Michener community has been incredibly generous and we hope the toys and gifts gathered this year will help make the holiday season one to remember for those in need. Through the Toronto Fire Fighters' Toy Drive, the items will be donated to individuals and families across the city that have lost their homes through fires, or have been displaced, either permanently or temporarily.
Michener's decision to partner with Toronto's firefighters stems from our health and wellness connection.
Through our Charitable Winter Drive, Michener's aim is to help minimize the health issues that arise from the loss of a home due to fire. Our hope is to make this holiday season a little brighter for children in need and to hopefully ease the strain on families and individuals as they rebuild their lives.
On December 15, firefighters from the Charity Division and the South Command Office will come to Michener and gather up all of the donations. Children from the Catholic Settlement House-Day Nursery will join us to sing some Christmas carols and enjoy some holiday treats.
