Minister Brison will attend the Ministerial-Level Meeting of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Steering Committee, the first such participation for Canada since Canada was elected as a member of the committee in March of this year.
Minister Brison will also meet with key foreign leaders and partners in government and civil society to highlight the Government of Canada's action on diversity and inclusion, and open and transparent government. Bilateral meetings include Mounir Mahjoubi, France's Minister of State for Digital Affairs, and José Carlos Ugaz, Chair of the Board of Directors of Transparency International, as well as representatives of South Korea and Georgia, the incoming chair of the OGP steering committee.
On September 20, Minister Brison will deliver remarks at an event hosted by the LGBTI Core Group on the theme of "Ending violence and discrimination against LGBTI persons: the urgent need for dialogue."
