Media Advisory - Minister Del Duca and Mayors meet to discuss regional transit centre at Toronto Pearson
TORONTO, April 3, 2017 /CNW/ - Road congestion is a major issue affecting the livability of the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area (GTHA). New research by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) demonstrates why a regional transit centre strategically located at Toronto Pearson would serve the current and growing demand for transit in the West GTHA, acting as a major ground mobility hub akin to a Union Station.
Tomorrow, Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca, Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie, Toronto Mayor John Tory, Brampton Mayor Linda Jeffrey and Kitchener Mayor Berry Vrbanovic will meet to review these findings. The Minister and Mayors will participate in a media availability in Viscount Station, which overlooks the proposed development site of the regional transit centre.
Media are invited to attend.

Last year, the GTAA announced plans to build a regional transit centre on airport property to support both its growth plans and the region's need for better transit connectivity. The GTAA has indicated it will fund the development and construction of the transit centre at Toronto Pearson. It continues to work with all levels of government to advance plans on priority lines.
