Media Advisory - Minister Gary Lunn Announces Funding for the Canadian
Paralympic Committee
OTTAWA, Oct. 20 /CNW/ - On Friday, October 22, Minister Lunn will be making a formal announcement about funding allocated to the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) over the next five years. In addition, the CPC will also be unveiling its new five-year Strategic Plan to outline how these funds will be invested to ensure the sustainability of Paralympic Sport in Canada and to increase the participation rates of people with disabilities in sport.
This announcement will take place during the 2010 Canadian Paralympic Committee's Congress, an annual event that brings together key stakeholders in the Canadian Paralympic Movement to reflect on the previous year and discuss future initiatives.
