Media Advisory - Minister McKenna celebrates World Environment Day and Canadian Environment Week Français
OTTAWA, June 4, 2018 /CNW/ - The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, will take part in activities highlighting Canadian Environment Week, from June 3 to June 9, 2018, including World Environment Day, on June 5, 2018. Canadian Environment Week was created in 1971 to celebrate the Government of Canada's environmental achievements, and it encourages Canadians to contribute to the conservation and protection of their environment.
Throughout the week, the Minister will host activities to help Canadians connect with nature. The Minister will also highlight action the Government of Canada is taking to protect the environment, grow the economy, and build a more sustainable future for generations to come.

These activities encourage a broader diversity of visitors to discover and connect with Parks Canada places, experience the outdoors, and learn about Canada's natural and cultural heritage. Members of Parliament are also invited to take part in the activities throughout the day. |
