Media Advisory - Minister McKenna to make announcement on plastic waste and marine litter and join Earth Day shoreline cleanup Français
HALIFAX, April 20, 2018 /CNW/ - Media representatives are advised that the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada, Catherine McKenna, will mark Earth Day by making an announcement on plastic waste and marine litter in Canada.
In addition, Minister McKenna will participate in a shoreline cleanup, in Eastern Passage, organized by the Friends of McNabs Island Society, the Ecology Action Centre, and Oceans North.
Cleaning up marine litter provides an opportunity to engage Canadians—youth, families, community members, provincial and municipal government officials, and local dignitaries—in finding solutions to improve the health of our oceans, which is a priority topic for Canada's G7 presidency this year.
