Media Advisory - Minister Wilkinson to announce arrival of new vessels in British Columbia
SIDNEY, BC, Dec. 13, 2018 /CNW/ - The Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, will be at the Institute of Oceans Sciences for an exciting announcement about the arrival of two new vessels to British Columbia under the Government of Canada's National Shipbuilding Strategy.
Minister Wilkinson will be available to take questions following the announcement.
In advance of the announcement, media are invited to witness a cold water immersion rescue demonstration by Canadian Coast Guard rescue specialists. Media are also invited join the Minister for on a short ride on one of the new vessels in Saanich Inlet. Please reserve your place on the vessel by writing to [email protected].

Please note this event is outside (under a tent). For media participating in the tour of one of the new vessels, please wear appropriate footwear for boarding a vessel and come prepared for inclement weather. Safety equipment will be provided.
