VANCOUVER, Nov. 15, 2018 /CNW/ - The Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, will take part in an arm chair discussion at the B.C. Business Summit themed Canada 360° - Action to Win in the Global Economy. The Minister's remarks will focus on USMCA and other trade deals that will open up new business opportunities for companies in BC and across Canada.
Beyond ensuring tariff free access to Canada's largest seafood export market, a market worth $4.3 billion a year, the USMCA agreement contains significant new measures focused on promoting ocean health, measures that will help to ensure that present and future generations can enjoy the social, cultural, recreational, environmental and economic benefits our oceans provide. The ocean actions are especially important for attracting businesses and tourists, and supporting related services including food and accommodation.
