The organization will use an educational activity at the Museum to feed dozens of children and to review the mid-campaign donations received through its Hunger Doesn't Take a Holiday campaign.
MONTREAL, July 31, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The media is invited to a "Feeding Our Future" picnic to be held at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Established in 2001 by Sodexo and supported by Moisson Montréal since 2011, the programme aims to meet the nutritional needs of young Montrealers who attend day camps. The Executive Director of Moisson Montréal, Richard Daneau, as well as the spokesperson of the campaign, actress Florence Longpré ("Like-moi" and "Les pays d'en haut"), will be on hand to meet journalists and to announce the Hunger Doesn't Take a Holiday mid-campaign results. The event, which begins at 11:00 a.m., is open only to those children who attend day camps assisted by organizations accredited with Moisson Montréal.
More than 39,000 young Montrealers between the ages of three and 17 rely on food assistance to have enough to eat. The goal of the Hunger Doesn't Take a Holiday campaign is to raise $50,000 in order to improve the daily lives of thousands of needy families in the Greater Montreal area.
